The project failed to get the required nine votes out of 15. Russia and China voted "for" the document. The states, Britain and France are "against", other member countries abstained. Moscow is disappointed with the results of the vote, said Dmitry Polyansky, Russian Deputy Representative to the UN.
- We regret that our Western colleagues actually sabotaged the negotiation process on the draft resolution. It became obvious that Western countries are simply afraid of creating a commission that will consider the relevant materials submitted by Russia and conduct an investigation on them, he said.
Biolaboratories in Ukraine were discovered during a military special operation. These scientific projects were financed from abroad, in particular from the USA. The scientists of these laboratories worked on the study of dangerous animal diseases and methods of their transmission, including through migratory birds. This was confirmed US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland. Russia appealed to the UN and the OSCE with a request to launch an investigation about what these laboratories were doing in Ukraine.
