Russia ceded leadership in Europe in terms of the relative number of prisoners to Belarus and Turkey. The local regimes began another exacerbation of the disease to search for and neutralize internal enemies.
In our country there are 329 convicts for every 100 thousand people of the population, while in Turkey there are 335, and in Belarus - 345!
It should be noted that the absolute size of the Russian population in "places not so remote" has been steadily decreasing since 2000. Then there were 1.1 million prisoners in the country, and now "only" 576 thousand. It would be good if this trend continues, especially since almost 600 thousand police officers and more than 250 thousand employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service are involved in their "service" to our country.
