United States President Joe Biden opposed the listing of Russia as a sponsor of terrorism, said White House correspondent Reuters Jeff Mason.

- When asked whether Russia should be classified as a state sponsor of terrorism, Biden answered "no," the journalistwrote on his Twitter.

Recall that the speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, initiated the inclusion of Russia in the list of state sponsors of terrorism. To date, the American list of such states includes four participants: Syria, Iran, North Korea and Cuba. The US Senate supported the idea, but the State Department did not yet share the determination of the senators on this issue. Earlier it became known that Latvia became the first country to include the Russian Federation in its national list of states that support terrorism .

The Russian authorities warned the United States that the legislative recognition of the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism, which is now being discussed in Congress, is fraught with a complete rupture of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
