Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov answered journalists' questions about Putin's phrase (pictured) "Like it, don't like it - be patient, my beauty", which was uttered in the context of the need for Ukraine to comply with the Minsk agreements.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said these words at a press conference after the conclusion of talks with French President Emmanuel Macron. Peskov believes that "some people saw here a not very good hint with sexual overtones", but in fact these words emphasized the importance of fulfilling the obligations assumed. In particular, compliance with the terms of the Minsk agreements.

“The President meant that if the state has assumed obligations, and if there is a signature of the head of state, then these obligations must be fulfilled. I bet it was very difficult to translate into French”, - said the spokesman (quote from Interfax).

Peskov also said that the president was not familiar with the work of the Red Mold group, in one of whose songs this phrase was present.

“I am convinced that Vladimir Putin is not familiar with the work of this group, and I think that at one time this group – I, frankly speaking, am also not familiar with it – borrowed it from Russian folklore”, - he replied.

The meeting between the presidents of France and Russia took place in the Kremlin and lasted almost 6 hours. It discussed Russia's security guarantees, as well as the situation around Ukraine. Part of the meeting was held over a working lunch.

“I repeat once again, in Kiev they either say that they will comply with the [Minsk agreements], then they say that this will destroy their country. The incumbent recently said that he does not like a single point of these Minsk agreements. "Like it, don't like it - be patient, my beauty". Must be fulfilled. It won’t work out any other way”, - Putin said at a joint press conference following the completion of the talks.
