After processing 99.58% of the protocols, the Sandu party is in the lead with a great advantage, almost twice ahead of its closest competitor, TASS reports, citing data from the CEC. Having received 52.53% of the vote, she will be able to independently form a government.

“In second place is its main rival - the Electoral Bloc of Communists and Socialists, with a result of 27.36%,” the message says.

According to RIA Novosti, early parliamentary elections in the country were held on Sunday. The deputies were elected for four years. The turnout in the elections exceeded 33.3%, so they were recognized as valid. 22 parties and blocs and one independent candidate took part in the elections. The main struggle unfolded between the Action and Solidarity party, which was headed by Maia Sandu before taking office, and the Communists and Socialists bloc headed by two former presidents of the country - the leader of the Communists Vladimir Voronin and the head of the Socialists Igor Dodon.

According to the preliminary results, in addition to the PDS and the Electoral Bloc of Communists and Socialists, another formation is surmounting the electoral threshold - the regional Shor Party, which gained 5.78%.

Despite the fact that the officially counting of votes has not yet been completed, in the current scenario, the Sandu party receives more than 51 mandates out of 101 in parliament. Thus, the supporters of the incumbent president will be able to independently form the government. The votes of the parties that have not overcome the minimum 5% cut-off threshold will go in favor of the PDS.

Observers note that the current PDS result is the best in the history of parliamentary elections in Moldova. Before them, only the Communist Party was able to overcome the 50% barrier. In the 2001 parliamentary elections, she managed to gain 50.07%.

Analysts believe that according to the results of the final vote count, the Sandu party can count on 60-61 out of 101 seats in parliament.

The voting results must be confirmed by the Constitutional Court of the country.
