The media reported on the preparation in the State Duma of two projects on the recognition of the DPR and LPR

The first document was developed on the basis of proposals from deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. It provides for the immediate sending of an appeal to the president.

The second document was prepared by deputies from United Russia. It provides for sending a request first to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and other departments.

It's worth reminding that earlier the Communist Party proposed to recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass. According to the authors of the initiative, this would serve as a start for the recognition of these republics by other states. The Kremlin did not comment on this initiative until it was approved in the lower house.
