President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Ukrainian side at the next talks with Moscow would "do everything" to get him to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

"Representatives of the delegations of our countries speak in video format every day. The task of our delegation is to do everything so that the meeting of the presidents takes place", - Zelensky said.

For its part, the Kremlin noted that such a meeting is “conceptually possible”, but before that, the delegations must do the work in order for the meeting to be productive. There should not be "meetings for the sake of meeting", said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Serey Lavrov. In addition, a face-to-face conversation between the two presidents should be held in order to fix concrete agreements, according to Moscow.

On the eve, we recall, the head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, who is a member of the Russian delegation at the talks with Ukraine, said that negotiations between Moscow and Kiev could soon develop into a unified position of delegations and the signing of documents.

Earlier, we note, Putin said that he was not against meeting with Zelensky during telephone conversations with the President of Turkey. The Russian leader also reported on the progress in the negotiations at a meeting with the head of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

It's worth reminding that on March 7, the third round of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations took place. Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, spoke about the movement of Moscow and Kiev towards a compromise.
