Deputy Prime Minister, Plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev advised the mayor of Vladivostok Oleg Gumenyuk (pictured) to resign voluntarily. Today Gumenyuk announced that he had written a letter of resignation.

"Today I, the plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev and the governor of the region Oleg Kozhemyako made a consolidated decision on my resignation from the post of the head of Vladivostok", - Gumenyuk wrote on his Instagram account.

He noted that he worked as mayor for more than two years, and during this time the administration team has done a lot, especially with regard to the construction and reconstruction of social institutions.

Yuri Trutnev on May 18, following a working trip to Vladivostok, spoke with the Governor of the Primorsky Territory, Oleg Kozhemyako. The head of the region pointed out to the plenipotentiary that the work of Gumenyuk as a whole seems to him unsatisfactory.

Trutnev agreed with the governor, recalling that the topic of the effectiveness of the mayor's work had already been raised.

Oleg Gumenyuk became the mayor of Vladivostok on April 5, 2019. He was nominated to the post of mayor by the deputies by a majority vote.
