After processing 70 percent of the protocols, five parties pass to the State Duma

According to the CEC, at 8:00 after processing 70.06% of the protocols, United Russia is leading in the elections to the State Duma in the federal district with 48.46 percent of the vote. It is followed by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation with 20.30%, followed by the LDPR with 7.69%.

“According to preliminary data,“ A Just Russia - For Truth ”also falls into the top five with 7.43%, followed by“ New People ”with 5.55%”, RIA Novosti notes.

According to preliminary data, seats in the lower house of the Russian parliament can be obtained by five parties that have managed to overcome the five percent barrier.

Compared to the 2016 elections, the results of voting in favor of "United Russia" look much more modest, while the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, on the contrary, gained weight: in the Duma of the last convocation, "United Russia" received 54.2% in the federal district, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation - 13.34%, LDPR - 13.14%, Fair Russia - 6.22%, Communists of Russia - 2.27%, Yabloko - 1.9%.

Now the counting of the voting results continues, and the results may still be corrected.

Elections to the State Duma of the VIII convocation were held in Russia from 17 to 19 September. For the first time, they were held in the format of a three-day voting. 3812 candidates from 14 political parties participated in the elections.

Simultaneously with the deputies of the State Duma , heads of regions were elected in nine subjects (in Mordovia, Tuva, Chechnya, Khabarovsk Territory, Belgorod, Penza, Tver, Tula, Ulyanovsk regions).

In another 39 regions, deputies of regional, territorial and republican legislative assemblies were elected. At the same time, in Dagestan, Karachay-Cherkessia and North Ossetia, heads of regions are not elected directly by citizens, but by deputies of the Legislative Assembly on the proposal of the president.

The intensity of the political struggle turned out to be very strong. In a number of regions, serious violations, falsifications and stuffing, and even attacks on members of election commissions were recorded on election day.
