The United States will not recognize the results of referendums on joining the Russian Federation, which are going to be held in the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, as well as in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said.

“This week at the United Nations, it would be important that other countries – all those who support the UN Charter and seek to defend it – also make this clear”, - Blinken added during talks with the new British Foreign Secretary, James Cleverley, which took place on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.

It's worth reminding that the republics of Donbass declared their desire to hold a referendum on the entry of these territories into Russia. Representatives of the DPR and LPR indicated that a referendum on this issue will be held from 23 to 27 September. Citizens will be asked the question "Are you for the entry of the LPR / DPR into Russia as a subject of Russia?". The results are planned to be announced within five days after the event.
