The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergei Lavrov, in response to a question from journalists, there will be a war, said that if it depends on the Russian Federation, then there will be no war. But the diplomat warned that Moscow would not allow the West to "rudely attack its interests".

Speaking about Washington's response to Moscow's demands for security guarantees, the politician noted that there is basically a "shadow on the fence", but there is also constructiveness in the form of a readiness to start a dialogue on arms control and deconfliction. Lavrov recalled that Moscow had been proposing for many years to start agreeing on these topics.

I can’t say that the negotiations are over, because now... Well, the Americans and NATO, as you know, have been studying extremely simple proposals made in the draft treaty with Washington and the agreement with the North Atlantic Alliance for more than a month”, - the minister said.

He also pointed out that interdepartmental work is currently underway to analyze the written responses from Washington and NATO on security assurances. After it is completed, proposals for further steps will be sent to President Vladimir Putin.

Lavrov called Washington's response to Moscow's proposals "practically exemplary" against the backdrop of "NATO's ideologized response" and added that negotiations with the US and NATO had not been completed. He assured that today he would send a request to the United States to clarify how they understand the principle of the indivisibility of security, agreed upon by the leaders of the 57 OSCE participating states in 1999 and 2010.

Earlier, Lavrov, commenting on the responses received by the United States and NATO on security guarantees, said that the text does not answer the main question - about the non-expansion of the Alliance to the east.
