Both channels were blocked for spreading false information about the coronavirus.

"There are signs that the laws of the Russian Federation have been violated, and they have been violated very grossly. This is associated with both censorship and obstruction of the dissemination of information to the media", - Dmitry Peskov said. His words are quoted by "TASS".

The presidential spokesman did not rule out that the video hosting will be forced to comply with Russian laws if violations are found in the actions of YouTube. Earlier, Roskomnadzor threatened YouTube with blocking on the territory of the Russian Federation, if all restrictions on Russian media channels are not lifted as soon as possible.

Both YouTube channels were blocked on the eve of September 28 without the possibility of recovery. One of the blocked channels was previously created in order to bypass the restrictions on the first one.

After the blocking of the channels, the head of RT, Margarita Simonyan, said that she was very much waiting for the country to block access to the German Deutsche Welle, ARD and ZDF. The Russian Foreign Ministry has already promised to retaliate against the blocking of Russian publications in Germany.
