Erdogan no longer wants to go to Europe: he creates a Great Turkey

Back in March, an online summit of heads of state of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states was held in the Kazakh city of Turkestan. In addition to Kazakhstan, it includes Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and even as an observer - Hungary.

Speaking at the forum, Nursultan Nazarbayev recalled that the meeting is taking place at a sacred place for all Turks - in Turkestan, where the mausoleum of the medieval philosopher Khoja Ahmed Yasavi is located. Now it is the official sacred place of worship and the spiritual center of the entire Turkic world.

“My proposal: we must adopt a document regarding the future of the Turkic Council. At the summit in Baku, I proposed raising the level of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states to the creation of an organization or union. Along with humanitarian and cultural development, we can learn a lot from each other, ”Nazarbayev said.

According to him, the use of the Latin alphabet gives the Turks a common system, thanks to which the participating countries have the opportunity to contribute to the development of Muslim youth at the global level. “It is important for us to develop together,” said the leader of Kazakhstan.

In November of this year, the next 8th summit of the Turkic Council is to be held in Istanbul, at which the name of this structure should be changed to the "Union of Turkic States".

Turkish President Recep Erdogan does not hide: we must hurry with the unification. As a positive example, he always cites the recent successes of the military coalition with Baku. The victorious war in Nagorno-Karabakh, in which Turkey, in fact, took part on the side of Azerbaijan, strengthened the union of the two Turkic peoples. Ankara saw the real strength of the unification of the two army groups. Erdogan said the Turks are trying not to disappoint their potential allies in the Transcaucasus, Central Asia and the Middle East.

Another example can be cited. When a border conflict broke out on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan this spring, Turkey reacted with lightning speed and provided Kyrgyzstan with financial and material assistance to rebuild destroyed houses in the Batken region. Naturally, Ankara did not provide such assistance to Tajikistan, which is not among the members and even observer countries of the Turkic Council.

In addition, it is known that more than 700 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan were seconded to extinguish fires in Turkey. President Ilham Aliyev even awarded his rescuers and firefighters who distinguished themselves on this front for the "Fraternal Cooperation" of Turkey and Azerbaijan.

The examples given by Erdogan have become the model that Ankara is now popularizing in every possible way among its colleagues in the Turkic world.

At the same time, the Turkish president did not rule out the creation of a Turkish military base on the territory of Azerbaijan, and in the future - the formation of a single "Turanian army". At the official level, this is refuted. But the speaker of the Turkish parliament confirmed that the issues of its creation were "discussed with Baku."

Recently, Turkish media often write about the future unification of the armies of all Turkic countries. Moreover, Erdogan is aiming at the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, where the Chinese allegedly oppress Muslims of Turkic origin.

“If the union is not only cultural, but also economic, then, in fact, it will be an attack on the EAEU, which today includes Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan,” political scientist Ilya Grashchenkov wrote in his telegram channel. - It is interesting that before that Erdogan made another important step, deciding to pave the Chinese route to Europe within the framework of the One Belt - One Road program, bypassing Russia. It seems, the expert believes, that the situation of instability around Russia is being created consistently and deliberately, China decided to play its party in relation to the post-Soviet space, which will act by someone else's hands. Geopolitical games always lead to the weakening of those who play them based solely on economic rather than strategic interests. More precisely, national interests. And until we decide what they are for us and on whose side we want to play, instability will only grow, said Ilya Grashchenkov.

Professor of the National Research University Higher School of Economics Andrei Kazantsev told NI that Turkey's foreign and domestic policy is in crisis. In this situation, Erdogan promotes the idea of pan-Turkism, which is very popular today in the circles of the Turkish military and diplomats. You will remember that at the very beginning, the President really wanted to develop relations with Europe, even to become a member of the EU. But they didn’t let me in. Then Erdogan got carried away with the idea of establishing a dialogue with Russia and China. But nothing happened with the Celestial Empire either. Turkey has a very tough position on Xinjiang, where, as they say, the Chinese do not allow ethnic minorities to live. There are also continuous disagreements with Russia, for example, over the Crimea. Turks are worried about the Crimean Tatars. In addition, Tatars, Bashkirs, and Yakuts - Turkic peoples live in Russia. And Erdogan has already proclaimed that Turkey is the country of all Turks. This will entail in the future, apparently, territorial claims against the Russian Federation. In addition, the Turkic format can create an alternative to the CSTO and the EAEU. Now, the expert suggests, we need to see how they will react to Ankara's proposal to unite in the capitals of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
