This is written by Izvestia. According to the publication, specialists from the Competence Center of the National Technology Initiative on Technologies of New and Mobile Sources at the Institute of Chemical Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences are developing a unique mobile gas mixture generator that can become an alternative to hospital therapy.

The device can operate both on batteries and on a network adapter; it does not require oxygen cylinders and stationary power supply. The hyperoxic mixture (oxygen-enriched mixture) necessary for patients with pulmonary insufficiency is obtained directly from the air using a pump. The device enriches the gas flow through the mask with oxygen. The weight of the device is comparable to the weight of the smartphone.

“This will be a real gift for patients with respiratory failure”, therapist Anton Rubtsov explained to Izvestia. - Now foreign oxygen concentrators are on the market, but they are the size of a radiator and require special professional service. The new device, apparently, will be both lightweight and easier to operate.

The device can not be purchased yet, the device will have toxicological tests and clinical studies.

The development will be useful for rehabilitation after COVID-19, it will also help people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and other diseases.
