Chinese scientists predicted catastrophic climate changes for Russia

By 2100, Russia and other countries of the Northern Hemisphere will face catastrophic climatic changes, Chinese scientists are sure.

The results of the research are provided by the portal Phys.org.

According to the conclusions of scientists, in 80 years in the Northern Hemisphere, the summer will drag on for six months, if you do not start taking measures to mitigate the effects of climate change.

The study found that, on average, summer increased from 78 to 95 days between 1952 and 2011, while winter decreased from 76 to 73 days. Spring and autumn also became shorter - from 124 to 115 days and from 87 to 82 days. If the trend continues, then in 2100 only two months will be allotted to winter.

“Numerous studies have already shown that changing seasons causes significant risks to the environment and health”, - said one of the authors of the work, Yupin Guang.

Now birds are changing their migration routes, plants bloom in an uncharacteristic period for them. The changes lead to difficulties in finding food for animals, and this, in turn, causes serious disturbances in natural communities.

Long-term flowering of plants is extremely dangerous for allergy sufferers, scientists say. And mosquito-transmitting diseases will expand their habitat to the north.

Chinese meteorologist Tsongwen Zhu noted that the shift in seasons will lead to more devastating weather events, and hot summers will threaten the world with large-scale wildfires.

We'd like to note that scientists recorded a faster rise in ocean level from warming than previously predicted. Scientists believe that the consequences of rising water levels threaten two-thirds of the world's population living along the coast of the seas or in other low-lying areas.
