Scientists have found traces of "experimentation" in the structure of the causative agent of Covid-19

Until recently, the official Russian point of view completely ruled out the laboratory origin of Covid-19. However, now scientists no longer deny this version, while paying attention to many mysterious features of SARS-Cov-2 in comparison with other viruses.

Perhaps for the first time at the Izvestia press conference, several Russian scientists agreed at once that the SARS-Cov-2 virus has signs of interference, experimentation and adaptation to the human genome. Thus, its laboratory origin cannot be ruled out. The fact that the "natural" host of this virus has not yet been found remains a mystery.

By a strange coincidence, it is in the "homeland" of Covid-19, in Wuhan, that the Institute of Virology is located. “In general, there are more than 100 laboratories in China that work with viruses, and there could have been a leak from there. Also in Wuhan there is an airport, a railway station, a market - a convenient environment for the rapid spread of the virus”, - says Alexander Panchin, senior researcher at the Institute for Information Transmission Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, bioinformatist . He did not rule out the fact of unsafe communication between the scientist and the animal, which could be the carrier of SARS-Cov-2 and the subsequent leak of the virus from the laboratory.

Prior to this, during the summit of the G7 leaders, the head of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhan Ghebreyesus also said that he did not rule out the version of the SARS-CoV-2 laboratory leak. According to him, there was not enough "transparency and cooperation" on the part of China at the initial stages of the investigation, there were difficulties with the exchange of data.

True, one of the leading specialists of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Shi Zhengli, immediately stated: "It is impossible to provide evidence of anything when there is none".

However, over time, new facts have emerged that can serve as indirect evidence of the artificial origin of the Covid-19 virus. As the journalists found out, despite the temporary moratorium that the US government imposed on funding research to enhance the functions of pathogenic viruses, work in this area received special permission and was continued. In addition, there is confirmation that the " synthetic construct of a chimeric mutant" - an artificially created coronavirus - has been approved by the American Dual Use Research of Concern committee. And the laboratories of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, whose scientists took part in this study, were assigned the highest hazard level back in 2015. In the same 2015, scientific material was published about dangerous experiments to create a hybrid version of the coronavirus. An article on this topic appeared in the renowned scientific journal Nature Medicine in November 2015. It was signed by 15 authors, 13 of whom are affiliated with the University of North Carolina, and two more are from the Wuhan Institute's Leading Special Pathogen Laboratory. Scientists talked about their method of creating an artificial virus and testing its ability to infect in mice and epithelial cells of human lungs . True, they argued that the purpose of this work was allegedly to study the potential of diseases caused by viruses like SARS-Cov-2. This article is in the public domain.

What worries Russian scientists about the SARS-Cov-2 virus? This virus is not a "close relative" of any known coronavirus. According to scientists, it cannot be ruled out that the Wuhan specialists had some unpublished, unpublished viruses and that they were leaked from the laboratory. However, at a press conference in Izvestia, bioinformatist Alexander Panchin noted: “Only the Covid-19 coronavirus has an interesting ability - to escape from the human immune system. And this is strange".

At the same time, none of the scientists has been able to present any significant evidence either in favor of the fact that SARS-Cov-2 is a natural virus, or in favor of the fact that it was obtained in a laboratory.

“So far, no 'natural' host for SARS-Cov-2 has been found. And this is also very strange. Are there indications that SARS-Cov-2 has been experimented with? Yes, there are publications that support this. So it cannot be completely ruled out of laboratory origin. Most likely, this virus is recombinant. And what is most alarming in the structure of this virus is the furin insert”, - says Konstantin Krutovsky, professor at the Department of Genomics and Bioinformatics of the Siberian Federal University, professor at the University of Göttingen.

Let us explain: we are talking about a new find by specialists from Cambridge. The article, authored by Nference bioinformatist Pravin Anand, states that the coronavirus contains an insert that is identical to a portion of a human protein. It was such a fragment that was found, and at the very place where the possibility of penetration of the coronavirus into the human cell is regulated. Thus, the virus uses a human enzyme to enter the cell. And at the same time, it interferes with the work of the human protein. This, by the way, leads to the occurrence of edema during coronavirus infection. As you know, edema in the lungs, in other organs and tissues of the human body are concomitant symptoms of patients with COVID-19.

“This insert in the SARS-Cov-2 structure is not what biotechnologists usually insert. A scientist for scientific purposes would make an insert that works well, not destructively. Immediately there is a strange, inexplicable situation with this insert in the structure of the virus”, - says Pavel Volchkov, head of the MIPT genomic engineering laboratory, virologist.

Will it ever be possible to find out the truth about the nature of the deadly virus? According to Konstantin Krutovsky , Professor of the Department of Genomics and Bioinformatics of the Siberian Federal University, in addition to scientists, special services should have their say in this. “There is a lot of politics in relation to Covid-19”, - said one of the scientists.

For its part, the scientific community recommends studying as much biological material as possible for antibodies and the content of SARS-Cov-2, and in different countries and for different time intervals. Perhaps this will provide a clue to the origin of the virus, which has given rise to an unprecedented pandemic.
