Scientists have consistently refuted the main postulates of the supporters of the laboratory origin of the pandemic

Still, the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is of natural origin. This conclusion was reached by an international group of 21 virologists, which published the results of their research in the prestigious scientific journal Cell, writes network analyst Alexander Panchin.

Scientists have dispelled in their publication some of the most common arguments of supporters of the conspiracy theory of the origin of the coronavirus. For example, laboratory adepts claim that bats carrying viruses similar to SARS-CoV-2 live very far from Wuhan. However, the same thing happened with the SARS epidemic, where the distance between the outbreak and the habitat of the carriers of the virus was equal to a thousand kilometers.

Adepts of the leak complain that the natural reservoir of the coronavirus has not been found, but it has not been found in the cases of Ebola, the hepatitis C virus, as well as the HCoV-HKU1 and HCoV-NL63 coronaviruses. A virus close to the SARS virus has been searched for in bats for more than ten years - it's not at all easy.

In addition, data on the geographical distribution of the earliest cases of coronavirus infection show that the epicenter of the infection was the markets, not the laboratory. Moreover, virologists have dispelled the legend that the coronavirus is adapted specifically to people. It turned out that it can infect a wide variety of animals: bats, cats, dogs and minks (a large-scale epidemic has arisen in this population). The report also contains several valuable revelations of the version of the laboratory origin of the coronavirus.
