On Tuesday, February 1, editorial offices of independent media received orders from Roskomnadzor to remove materials that mention investigations by opposition leader Alexei Navalny*.

According to Novaya Gazeta, such demands were made to the TV channel Dozhd*, the radio station Ekho Moskvy, Meduza*, Znak.com, the Saratov edition of Svobodnye Novosti, and the Magadan portal Vesma.

In total, the RKN demands the removal of 77 publications, including news about “Putin’s palace” near Gelendzhik, about the investigation “He is not Dimon to you”, about the real estate of the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the dachas of the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin and the penthouse of the namesake of the wife of deputy Leonid Slutsky. The agency also requires the removal of materials about the expensive outfits of Moscow Vice Mayor for Social Development Anastasia Rakova.

The RKN explains its demands by saying that these publications "distribute materials from an organization whose activities are banned in Russia".
