The largest Russian banks have raised rates on consumer loans. Sberbank's rate increased from 12.9-21.7% to 21.9-29.9%, while VTB's rates changed from 5.9%-13.8% to 15.9-29.9%.

It is reported by RIA Novosti.

Earlier, even before raising the key rate, VTB raised the mortgage rate - the minimum is now 15.3%. Sberbank increased the figure to 18.6%. The maximum yield in these banks on ruble deposits increased to 18%.

It's worth reminding that sanctions against VTB were imposed by the United States and Great Britain in response to Russia's launch of a military special operation in the Donbass. The British Treasury gave the bank 30 days to wind down its activities.

After that, VTB sent SMS messages to its clients abroad, in which he told what to do in case of difficulties when paying with bank cards of this bank, and also advised his clients to withdraw cash.

Mastercard today disconnected VTB, as well as five other Russian banks, from its system.
