Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced his infection with the coronavirus COVID-19, a pandemic which has spread across all regions of Russia and all sectors of Russian society.

According to RIA Novosti, the head of the Russian government informed Russian President Vladimir Putin about his illness via videocommunication. He also said that he is going to the self-isolation and will follow the medical prescriptions.

Mikhail Mishustin proposed First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov to the post of Acting Prime Minister. Vladimir Putin signed a decree on his appointment in connection with the illness of the head of government.

Vladimir Putin wished Mikhail Mishustin a speedy recovery, and he in turn asked the Russians to stay home. According to the press secretary of the Prime Minister Boris Belyakov, the Prime Minister will be treated for coronavirus " in one of the medical institutions under the supervision of doctors."
