The LDPR faction led by Vladimir Zhirinovsky submitted to the State Duma a bill on monthly payments of the minimum wage - 12,130 rubles - for housewives.

The support is addressed to those who manage the household, namely cleaning the house, preparing food, caring for children, disabled people or elderly relatives, RIA Novosti reports, referring to the press service of one of the sponsors of the initiative of the head of the lower house committee on labor and social policy Yaroslav Nilov.

According to the document, only one family member will receive the right to benefit, and only if the average per capita income in the family does not exceed twice the subsistence level in the region.

The payment procedure should be determined by the Ministry of Labor. It is proposed to apply for benefits through the IFC or social security authorities. If the bill is adopted, it must enter into force on January 1 of next year.

Nilov explained the initiative with "uncomplicated socio-economic logic". The parliamentarian notes that “measures are being introduced and explained by the pandemic aimed at regulating the employment market,” but these measures are temporary, “and households are permanent”.

- Do not underestimate their relevance. A permanent monthly allowance in the household sector will strengthen social stability in society - regardless of any crown, - Nilov said.

Vladimir Zhirinovsky announced the proposal to introduce benefits for housewives at the beginning of the year. February 3, he announced that he intends to submit a bill to the State Duma in the shortest possible time. He called housekeeping hard labor, which must be paid.

A Just Russia party agreed to discuss the initiative. Doubts about the success of the bill were expressed by United Russia and the Communist Party. Experts considered the idea reasonably populist.
