Experts from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) were able to find out the cause of the crash of the Il-112V experimental aircraft in Kubinka, which killed three crew members.

According to Kommersant, referring to its interlocutor, the aircraft went into an uncontrolled heel after the fire occurred as a result of the loss of elasticity of the aileron thrust. This, in turn, was due to the high temperature.

Experts came to the conclusion that after the engine caught fire, the crew tried to extinguish it manually, but this could not be done, since the aircraft manufacturer oriented the fire extinguishing systems to the engines, and the fire had already passed to the wing. Then the crew requested an emergency landing, stop the burning engine and directed the plane to the airfield in Kubinka.

The pilots could no longer influence the situation when the aileron thrust collapsed and he stood in a neutral position.

Previously, possible problems with the propeller of the aircraft were named as the cause of the tragedy.

The tragedy happened on the morning of August 17 during a test flight. The plane crashed in the forest near the village of Nikolskoye, Odintsovo district, not reaching the runway in Kubinka for about a kilometer. A test pilot was killed in the crashed Il-112V Hero of Russia Nikolay Kuimov, first class test pilot Dmitry Komarov and first class test flight engineer Nikolay Khludeyev.
