"What a brazen smile you have!" The frightened library bosses got rid of the troublemaker

"What a brazen smile you have!" The frightened library bosses got rid of the troublemaker

The management of one of the Moscow libraries "cleaned out" their institution from a politically active employee.

Civil activist Karina Starostina, who has been on duty at the Nemtsov Bridge for the seventh year in a row, shared in her blog the story of how frightened bosses squeezed her out of her beloved job, and until recently Karina worked as a librarian in one of Moscow colleges. It should be noted that such situations have recently been encountered in budgetary organizations in Russia with alarming frequency.

A little more than two weeks before the onset of retirement age, she filed a letter of resignation. Moreover, all her colleagues unanimously said that they were very sorry to lose a good librarian. These six months turned out to be very, very difficult for Karina, and here's why.

In the spring of this year, the head of the branch called her, and closing the door so that no one knew what was at stake, she said that the director of the library sent her scans from Karina's blogs on politics:

"The principal is very worried that you are doing propaganda among the students..."

However, Starostina reassured her, explaining that she manifests her civic position exclusively outside of working hours, and, moreover, is categorically against any propaganda in any educational institution.

This business did not end, especially for Karina's sake, the director of the library came from the other end of Moscow a few days later and talked to her for two whole hours, complaining that she “did not understand such behavior”:

“I don’t understand why you need Crimean Tatars? Are you a member of any organization? Have you participated in the last rallies? .. "

And so in a circle.

“I listen, listen and seem to smile. I smile almost always. This annoys the director even more. He distorts my surname, first name, patronymic, says that I have an impudent and disgusting smile and that I look at it from under my glasses is not good ... "

However, it is practically impossible to fire a person 5 months before retirement according to the law, and therefore the authorities had to endure it until the end of July. And then this day has come:

“Coincidentally, on the last day of my work, the director came to check. This is exactly a coincidence. When she found out that I was leaving, she was delighted and said that the step was correct, this work is not for people with my position (in this she is right, at the moment it is). She shook my hand ... "

A new stage in life begins. I will continue to live. Favorite profession remains in the past. Things are good. Everything is good.

Maybe it was necessary to actively fight? But why? There was nothing to fight for, and there was no strength either ... "

Karina Starostina's readers supported her as best they could:

- Karina Genrikhovna, I remember you very well from childhood, when I came to get books. You are an amazing person. Rare, brave, honest, intelligent, decent. We live in a terrible time. Let everything be fine with you!

- Karina, I'm glad for you that you can manage your time, although the pensions are very small, but the person gains some freedom!) These people are unhappy, it is a pity for them that they grew up in socialism, and in some way teleported to another life without changing their worldview and are in the past! They have deprived themselves and their children are deprived of a wonderful future, in a wonderful Land! You have done a lot of good for all of us! We respect you and appreciate that we are friends! In Russia of the future and even now there is and will be "Nemtsov Most"!

- I hope your retirement life will be eventful. I had a similar story, I was also forced to leave because of my political views, I also tried to hold out until my retirement.

When I retired, I entered graduate school and wrote a dissertation. True, she has not yet defended it, but I hope.
