Mikhail Yefremov: "I admit my guilt"

The artist made a statement before the trial today, September 3, in the hall of the Presnensky court in Moscow.

The state prosecutor pointed out that the victim Zakharov was unable to avoid the collision. Yefremov, on the other hand, exceeded the maximum permissible speed by 25 km / h, drove into the oncoming lane and did not take measures to reduce the speed.

In addition, the prosecutor pointed out that an employee of the Ulysses pub said that on the day of the accident Yefremov came to the pub twice and was drunk. After he left the establishment, at 21:38 he got into the driver's seat and drove away. Then there was an accident.

Lawyer Igor Trunov believes that a last-minute confession may affect the judges and the verdict for Yefremov, - The investigation is over. Yefremov, most likely, analyzed the situation and came to a certain conclusion. When everything is obvious, but a person resists, then this is an unhealthy indicator. Naturally, admitting guilt and making amends for material harm affects the punishment that will be imposed by the court. The range of possible terms between the maximum and minimum punishment is large. Here recognition will be important, - Trunov explained in an interview with Sputnik radio. Note that the state prosecutor did not take into account today's confession.

Let us recall that Yefremov's lawyer Elman Pashayev stated a witness who allegedly could prove that another person was driving the car at the time of the accident. However, the court did not accept the testimony of a witness who was blind in one eye. The victims in the case suspected that the actor's lawyers could bribe the witnesses.

The fatal traffic accident, arranged by Yefremov, occurred on June 8 in the center of Moscow. The actor was drunk, and traces of drugs were also found in his blood. Later, the examination revealed the drugs themselves in the artist's car. Mikhail Yefremov recorded a video message in which he repented, admitted guilt and asked for forgiveness from the family of the deceased. However, after that he radically changed his position, saying that he did not remember anything from the evening of the accident, because he was drunk.
