The Federal Customs Service (FCS) offered to transfer unrealized confiscated goods to charitable organizations, this proposal was approved by the Federal Property Management Agency (Rosimushchestvo).

According to Izvestia , citing a letter from the deputy head of the department, Alexei Ponomarev, to the All-Russian Popular Front (ONF), in the first six months of this year alone, 7.4 thousand confiscated consignments of goods with a total value of over 5.2 billion rubles have accumulated at customs.

"The issue of transferring part of the seized goods, as well as unrealized confiscated property to charities as a whole deserves attention, in connection with which the Federal Property Management Agency expresses its readiness for its further development and discussion within the framework of expert meetings", - RBC quotes the text of the document.

Earlier, charitable organizations that provide assistance to low-income citizens have repeatedly received proposals not to destroy the unrealized customs confiscation, but to transfer it to those in need. We can only talk about those goods that are not prohibited for sale and are recognized as suitable by the state examination.

This initiative was supported by representatives of the ONF, who made official statements to government agencies.

At the suggestion of the ONF, the functions of operators for the collection and distribution of confiscated goods should be transferred to the "third sector" - charitable organizations that will independently distribute things to the poor.

Beginning in 2014, when cases of public destruction of unrealized confiscated goods became more frequent in Russia, philanthropists began to turn to power structures, calling the practice of destroying good things “destructive”, while thousands of people in deep need in the country are left without the necessary help.

Until now, the customs office, executing the decisions of the courts on the confiscation of property, was vested with the right to dispose of the seized goods. If during a certain time it was not possible to sell it, the confiscated property was destroyed. The Federal Property Management Agency was engaged in the sale of the confiscated property. The experts of the department evaluated the goods and appointed tenders.

Fraud was often associated with confiscation. Thus, a consignment of confiscated goods disappeared at a warehouse in Golyanovo. Ten officers of the special forces of the Federal Customs Service of Russia were detained on suspicion of stealing goods. An investigation has begun against the detainees.

It is expected that now needy citizens of the Russian Federation will have access not only to confiscated consumer goods, but also to real estate. The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation made a proposal to put up for auction the housing of corrupt officials, confiscated by court decisions. Earlier it was reported that representatives of the prosecutor's office are conducting checks throughout the country. Lawsuits are brought against those who have found expensive property and real estate bought with dubious incomes. As a rule, mansions and luxury cars, the aggregate value of which exceeds the income of the family of an official or security officer for three years, fall under suspicion. If, in the course of the proceedings, the defendant fails to prove the legality of the expensive acquisitions, the property turns into state revenue.
