The optimal case for the formation of persistent immunity against the coronavirus is the course of the disease of the middle severity form without excessive use of medications, says professor of pathophysiology of the First Moscow State Medical University. Sechenova Anton Yershov.

“That's when the body develops maximum immunity to it”, - Yershov said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

However, immunity, which provides protection against infection, may not form with a very mild or extremely severe course of the disease. In the first case, the body will not have a decisive amount of the virus so that it begins to produce antibodies. In the second case, stress prevents the body from producing antibodies.

- In an extremely severe course, the body will be so stressed that all its compensatory forces go to maintain life in the present moment, and not to form a defense for the future. The body simply does not have enough strength, namely, proteins for the formation of antibodies, ”explained Ershov.

According to the professor, the difficulty is that the coronavirus has appeared recently, which means that enough time has not passed to “get acquainted” with it.

- Due to the fact that it is SARS, there is an assumption that immunity to COVID-19 will also remain for two years. But there is no confirmed conservation data, ”said Yershov.

He added that the repeat of the contamination is a characteristic of any pathology, and COVID-19 is not an exception.

We recall that the Minister of Health, Mikhail Murashko, declared the “deceit” of the coronavirus. He noted that the disease can dramatically change its course, and the patients that already have an improvement in the condition, may face the repeated symptoms.
