The first president of AvtoVAZ, Vladimir Kadannikov passed away

“On June 3, at the age of 80, Vladimir Vasilyevich Kadannikov, Hero of Socialist Labor and General Director of AvtoVAZ from 1988 to 2005, died”, - the Togliatti mayor's office said.

Vladimir Kadannikov began his professional career as a mechanic, going through all the stages of his working career to the CEO of one of the largest joint-stock companies in the country".

The Togliatti administration noted that during the period of Kadannikov's leadership, even in difficult economic conditions, the AvtoVAZ team continued to work steadily without cutting jobs and preserving social guarantees for workers.

It was under his leadership that the serial production of Lada cars began.
