The Cabinet of Ministers also intends to adjust the method of calculating the subsistence level, Izvestia reports, citing sources close to the Cabinet.

The regions cut their living wages quite often. In the second quarter of 2020, its size for the working-age population, according to Rosstat data, decreased in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug - from 17,707 to 17,511 rubles, in Dagestan - from 10,363 to 10,199 rubles, in Sevastopol - from 12,381 to 12 164 rubles, in the Sverdlovsk and Smolensk regions - from 11 763 to 11 713 rubles and from 12 088 to 12 038 rubles, respectively.

According to the sources of the publication, the size of the subsistence minimum in the country as a whole is planned to be determined on the basis of a basic set of products, but a special coefficient will be set for the regions. The technique that is being used now has been criticized by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Revision of approaches to determining the size of the subsistence minimum and minimum wages will be carried out once every five years.

Note that the government predicts an increase in the number of citizens whose incomes are less than the subsistence level. The draft plan for achieving the Nazis for the next ten years includes forecasts for an increase in poverty - up to 13.3%.
