Kommunarka's Chief Physician had his “jaw dropped” in surprise because of the age of the patients with COVID-19
The Head Physician of the hospital in Kommunarka Denis Protsenko said that coronavirus in Russia is developing according to an unusual scenario. Young people who have some diseases suffer from it, but the observations of doctors refuted all the predictions.
According to RT Denis Protsenko said that he was surprised because of the age of patients who were diagnosed with coronavirus. “When we assembled the first pool of patients and began to analyze - our jaw dropped,” - Protsenko emphasized.
At the beginning of the week it became known that Denis Protsenko himself also had been infected with the coronavirus. He told that his illness has a mild course and it is even not an obstacle for working - he was isolated and treated in his own office continuing to carry out his duties.
Previously doctors stated that the main risk group for coronavirus infection is the elderly over the age of 65 years. That is why the first restrictive measures in the capital were aimed at ensuring that people of this age stayed at home not exposing themselves to the threat of the infection.
The day before Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova citing statistics on coronavirus disease in the country reported that most of those 43 patients who died in Russia were elderly people with chronic diseases.
Meanwhile, two days earlier it was reported that coronavirus in Moscow has such a feature that it catches up with younger people more often than in Europe. On April 2, 595 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in the capital, about half of them were people who were under 45 years old . March 29 it was reported that about half of all coronavirus-infected Russians are also under the age of 40, and there are already dead who have not reached the age of forty.
According to the latest data over the past day in Russia 658 cases of coronavirus infection were detected. 536 cases of infection occurred in the Russian capital.
Thus, the total number of cases in Russia reached 5389 people, while 3893 of them are residents of Moscow. In total, 45 people died in the country, 355 recovered.
