“Twelve people entered my apartment with a gas cutter and a crowbar: officers of the ICR, police, Russian Special Police Force (SOBR), attesting witnesses. My husband opened the door. I, being naked, dressed already under the supervision of a lady unfamiliar to me. They made a house-check. I was not able to call to the lawyer. They were looking for brochures, leaflets, accounts of Open Russia, perhaps for an icon with the face of Mikhail Khodorkovsky. I have nothing of this. But they took what they found - all the flash drives, my laptop, daughter's laptop, computer, phones - not only mine, but my husband's, - a bunch notebooks, on which I scribbled during press conferences. I was left without means of production", - wrote the journalist on her Facebook shortly before her death. She blamed the Russian Federation for her death. In recent years, Irina Slavina has been fined huge sums of money for her materials.

Human Rights Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova said that the reasons for the suicide of the editor-in-chief of Koza Press need to be "carefully examined" and called her death "a departure from the struggle for her rights". The Investigative Committee is inclined to believe that there is no connection between the suicide of the editor-in-chief and the searches.

Police at night dismantled the memorial at the site of the death of Irina Slavina, - reports the TV channel Dozhd / Rain. The same thing happened on the night of October 3. Another spontaneous memorial was formed on the main street of the city, Bolshaya Pokrovskaya, near the sculpture of a goat. The goat is considered one of the symbols of the city, after which the publication was named. On October 3 there were pickets in memory of the journalist. The daughter of the deceased journalist also took part in the action, reproaching the Russians for their silence about what was happening around.

An action in memory of the editor-in-chief of Koza Press was also held in Kazan on October 3, - inkazan.ru notes. Local activists and journalists gathered at 18:30 on Bauman Street and laid flowers at the portrait of Irina Slavina, lit candles. Residents of St. Petersburg laid flowers and brought candles to the Gostiny Dvor.
