Residents of Moscow face the fact that revaccination does not extend the validity of the vaccination certificate. Because of this, citizens, in particular, cannot receive bonuses from employers and travel to countries where a six-month vaccination certificate is required.

Kommersant drew attention to the problem. The technical support of the Unified Medical Information System (EMIAS - editor's note) confirmed that at the moment, during revaccination, the validity of the vaccinated person's certificate is not extended. The Moscow Department of Information Technologies (DIT) also reported that the possibility of extending the QR-code after revaccination will appear if an appropriate decision is made.

Mass vaccination against coronavirus began in Moscow in December last year. Electronic certificates for a period of 1 year began to be issued in January 2021. Therefore, even the first vaccinated should not have any difficulties using the QR-code, according to the DIT.

It is worth noting that some employers ask employees to get vaccinated no more than six months ago. For this, they are ready to give employees additional leave or bonuses. Also, vaccination certificates are needed for travel to foreign countries - and a number of states accept only those who were vaccinated no more than six months ago.

According to experts, the problem with the renewal of vaccination certificates may be related to the compatibility of information systems that are used in the process. Moreover, such difficulties have not yet been observed in the regions. Perhaps Moscow is simply "temporarily unable to cope with the volume of information".
