According to the latest reports of the Operational Headquarters for Combating Coronavirus in Russia, for the first time in a long time, the country has seen a decrease in the daily increase in cases. Prior to this, the incidence of COVID-19 has been increasing daily since January 10.

PandemicAccording to the operational headquarters, 171,905 new cases of infection were detected over the past day - a day earlier, coronavirus was found in 180,071 Russians.
The largest number of new cases of infection was detected in the following regions:
- Moscow - 15 442;
- St. Petersburg - 13,372;
- Moscow region - 12,230;
- Chelyabinsk region - 4900;
- Perm Territory - 4797.
Positive dynamics is also observed in other areas, although the figures are still very high. During the day, 10,843 covid patients were hospitalized, 609 citizens died. 55,683 people have recovered.
A day earlier, the "leadership" in the number of cases belonged to St. Petersburg, where 21,448 cases of infection were detected per day, and in Moscow - 18,856.
