The number of fraudulent resources for the sale of air tickets in Russia has grown by 60% in a month, reports Nastoyibilet.rf.

In the current month, service specialists discovered 318 fake websites and fake accounts on social networks, through which fake air tickets are traded. This is already three times more than three months ago.

“We have noticed that the activity of fraudsters has been growing since the beginning of the year. In April, the Nastoybilet.rf service identified about a hundred fraudulent websites and social media profiles. In May, this figure almost doubled - we found 191 fake resources”, - the message says.

In June, the appetite for fraudulent air ticket scammers increased even more. According to experts, the most common trick of scammers who hunt for money for air travelers is to create twin sites of known resources, only slightly changing their name. With careless handling, customers may not notice the replacement of one letter. As a result, this is fraught with the fact that they will lose money and risk ruining their vacation.

“Fraudsters often create misspelled doubles to mislead users. If you buy tickets on a new site, read the reviews about it, and check the site itself in the Nastoyibilet.rf service”, - experts recommend.

According to the PR director of Aviasales Janis Dzenis, one of the ways to protect yourself is to study in detail the warnings and information about fraudulent schemes. To help customers, the company has developed a chat bot in Viber, which in a playful way tells about the main fraudulent tricks.

Often, scammers offer potential customers lucrative tickets, luring them with gifts and good discounts . Seeing such an advertisement, one should not rush. Before transferring money to someone, you need to write to the official support service of this company with a request to check the account from which the tickets are advertised "with incredible discounts". When checking an account, it often turns out that it was created and managed by scammers.

In order not to become victims of scammers selling fake air tickets, in no case should you follow the links from letters and messages with offers of last-minute tours.

All addresses must be bookmarked and entered manually. When paying, you need to make sure that the money does not go from card to card, not to an electronic wallet and not to an individual. In order not to lose all your money, you need to use a separate virtual card for online purchases, which does not store basic savings.
