The Governor of the Kamchatka Territory, Vladimir Solodov, declared 7, 8, and 9 July to be mourning days in the region due to the An-26 plane crash.

The state flags of the Russian Federation and the flags of Kamchatka will be lowered throughout the region. Entertainment programs and events will be canceled by TV and radio companies and cultural institutions. Solodov stated that there is practically no chance of finding survivors of this plane crash. The regional government will allocate 500 thousand rubles to the relatives and friends of the victims, as well as 2 million rubles of insurance payments, in addition, the airport will pay them 2 million rubles each.

Now there is a rescue operation, said Solodov, rescuers are raising the bodies of the dead from the water. According to an Interfax source, at 3:30 am Moscow time, six bodies were raised, and one of the dead was identified. According to TASS, at 6:30 Moscow time, nine bodies were raised to the surface. Rescuers and volunteers will continue their search until high tide.

"The bodies will be transported to Palana, everything for identification is here. Arrival of forensic experts is expected", - the village administration informed.

Recall that the day before the passenger An-26, flying from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to Palana, stopped communicating. There were 28 people on board, including a child. As a result of the search operation, the wreckage of the aircraft was found 3.8 km from the destination of the flight - the village of Palana. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, both the crew and passengers died.

A criminal case was initiated on the fact of the incident.
