Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu brought to disciplinary responsibility officials of the Western Military District, who allowed the sending of servicemen to the wedding ceremony of a descendant of the Romanov dynasty in St. Isaac's Cathedral in St. Petersburg.

According to RIA Novosti, citing a source close to Shoigu, after the leading media reported on the participation of the Russian military as an honorary escort at the wedding of Georgy Mikhailovich, a representative of the Romanov dynasty, and the daughter of Italian diplomat Rebecca Bettarini, on October 1, the Ministry of Defense appointed an inspection.

Its results were disappointing for the participants and the chiefs of the guard of honor.

"Russian Defense Minister Shoigu brought to disciplinary responsibility officials of the Western Military District, who made decisions on the allocation of military personnel of the commandant's unit for a private event (marriage), which took place in St. Isaac's Cathedral in St. Petersburg", - the message says.

According to the news agency, during the official proceedings, violations of the requirements of the governing documents were found.

The department indicated that the involvement of the military personnel of the guard of honor company in the events is regulated by the regulatory legal acts of the Ministry of Defense. In the story of the wedding of a descendant of the royal dynasty of the Romanovs, the regulations were violated.

Earlier it was reported that on October 1 in St. Petersburg "Grand Duke" Georgy Romanov and the daughter of the Italian diplomat Rebecca Bettarini got married.

This celebration was the first wedding of the Imperial House of Romanov in Russia since 1917. At the beginning of this year, it became known that the 39-year-old Grand Duke George chose 38-year-old Italian Rebecca (in Orthodoxy Victoria) Bettarini, the only daughter of diplomat Roberto Bettarini, as his wife.

The couple solemnly became engaged in Kostroma, where the first representative of the Romanov dynasty, Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich, was called to the kingdom.

On July 12, 2020, Rebecca Bettarini converted to Orthodoxy at the Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg and named her Victoria Romanovna.

The wedding of the Romanovs, scheduled for October 1, 2021, was held in a solemn atmosphere.

At the entrance, the young were met by the guardsmen of the Preobrazhensky regiment, then the guards moved inside the St. Isaac's Cathedral and already there played their fake role.

In total, more than a thousand people were invited to the sacrament, including representatives of foreign august dynasties and members of the Russian Noble Assembly.

After the ceremony, the young people went to the Ethnographic Museum for a gala dinner. The celebration ended with a festive fireworks display over the city.

St. Isaac's Cathedral suspended its work during the wedding.

Earlier it was reported that the marriage of Grand Duke George Mikhailovich and Rebecca Bettarini did not please everyone in Russia. "Novye Izvestia" received an Appeal from 6 monarchical and Orthodox-patriotic organizations of Russia, from which it follows that the tsar is not real and should be called differently.
