According to the operational headquarters, an increase in hospitalizations was recorded in 77 subjects of the Russian Federation.

“The daily increase in new cases of coronavirus infection in the Russian Federation amounted to 165,643 cases, which is 6,262 infections less than reported the day before,” Interfax notes.

At the same time, the number of deaths increased from 609 to 698 per day.

In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, 13,147,666 people have been infected with covid in the country, of which 336,721 have died.

On the eve it became known that on February 7, for the first time in a long time, there was a decrease in the daily increase in cases in the country. Prior to this, the incidence of COVID-19 has been increasing daily since January 10 due to the rapid spread of the Omicron strain.

During this period, the Russians began to actively protect their health. 89% of citizens admitted that they wear medical masks in public places, and 48% managed to get vaccinated against COVID-19. About 37% of Russians regularly sanitize their hands, while 12% said they do not use public transport services so as not to get infected from other passengers.

Another 9% of participants try to adhere to self-isolation and not leave the house unnecessarily. 5% indicated that they wear gloves in public places. 7% of respondents said that they go in for sports and lead a healthy lifestyle. About 31% of Russians are sure that it is most likely to become infected with COVID-19 at the airport and train station, and a quarter of citizens believe that planes and trains are the most dangerous in this regard.
