A change in the rules for the payment of unemployment benefits comes into force. The innovation will affect, among other things, those laid off due to the liquidation of the organization or layoffs, as well as women on leave due to the birth of a child.

The maximum unemployment benefit is 12,130 rubles, and the minimum is 1,500 rubles. The first three months are paid 75% of earnings (no more than 12,130 rubles), the second three months - 60% (no more than 5,000 rubles). While the new rules had not yet entered into force, benefits began to be paid to citizens from the moment they were registered at an employment center - from the first day they were recognized as unemployed.

Now, it will be possible to settle the issues of calculating benefits when the beginning of the payment period is shifted or interrupted. At the same time, payments in the maximum amount will be charged not within the first three months from the moment a citizen is recognized as unemployed, but for three months in general, regardless of the transfers and breaks.

First of all, the changes will affect citizens who have lost their jobs as a result of the liquidation of an enterprise or staff reduction. They will not receive unemployment benefits in the first three months, but the average salary at their previous job. However, after that, they will no longer be able to receive unemployment benefits in the maximum amount, since the first three months have already passed. In such cases, the deadline for receiving benefits will be postponed. The maximum amount of payments will be calculated from the fourth to the sixth months of unemployment, and then 60% of earnings, but not more than 5,000 rubles.

In addition, the adjustment applies to pregnant women who are unemployed. If during the first three months of receiving unemployment benefits in the maximum amount they will overlap with the period when benefits for temporary disability for pregnancy and childbirth are paid, then unemployment benefits will be postponed to a later date.

Also, the adopted changes will affect citizens called for military training during the period of receiving the maximum allowance. At this time, they are on state support and do not have the opportunity to receive other measures of social support. After returning from fees, they will continue to receive unemployment benefits at the maximum amount.

Recall that the registration procedure was simplified earlier for the unemployed.

As of April 1, the number of unemployed in Russia fell from 1.9 million to 1.75 million.
