Dmitry Rogozin, general director of the state corporation Roscosmos, said that criminal cases of embezzlement in the Russian rocket and space industry would appear again and again.

Commenting on reports of new criminal cases related to violations in Roscosmos, where a foreign person may appear, Rogozin said that "this is clearly not the last case".

"The Department of Economic Security and the Internal Audit Service of Roscosmos are carefully studying the documents of past years", - quotes the statement of Rogozin Kommersant.

According to Nezavisimaya Gazeta , over the past two years, investigative bodies, based on the results of inspections at Roscosmos, have opened more than 20 criminal cases on the facts of embezzlement, abuse, abuse of office.

“Billions of dollars worth of international criminal schemes are beginning to emerge”, - the newspaper notes.

Rogozin said that he has "zero tolerance" in relation to theft and corruption, since "thieves actually damage the state's defense, this is treason and betrayal". He explained this by the fact that the state corporation is involved in the creation of military missile technology and the country's strategic nuclear potential.

The investigation found out that the billion rubles stolen during the 2017 deliveries of the electronic component base for the scientific energy module (NEM), not yet installed on the International Space Station (ISS), was laundered in the UAE and Hong Kong. The investigation believes that the theft, in the case of which there are eight, including high-ranking, defendants, was committed "out of selfish motives as part of an organized group". It caused RSC Energia and Roscosmos significant property damage.

According to Kommersant, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Amur Region has opened two criminal cases in connection with the machinations at the Vostochny cosmodrome. In one case, the damage caused by operations with rocket fuel amounted to 600 million rubles, and in the other it is about the theft of 60 million rubles under fictitious documents. According to Rogozin, the embezzlement cases at Vostochny were initiated “in a sense” at the suggestion of Roscosmos.
