The season has started: what are the budget options for a beach holiday

The pandemic will spoil the citizens of Russia this summer season: there are very few countries that are ready to receive our tourists. So far, even Turkey and Tanzania are closed. What about those that are still open?

Pandemic

The recreation conditions in them are analyzed by the associate professor of the Department of Hospitality, Tourism and Sports. Plekhanov Roman Gareyev.

In Russia itself, by the beginning of summer, more than 80% of hotels, sanatoriums, hostels and rest houses in Crimea, Krasnodar Territory and on the Caucasian Mineral Waters were booked. If the situation with Turkey continues, the figure will rise to 90–95% by mid-June.

As well as the prices, which in Sochi or Yalta, for example, in a 3-star hotel with breakfast for a week for two people already amount to 60-100 thousand rubles, and this is without air tickets. Cheaper - for 35-50 thousand rubles, you can find similar options in small towns such as Feodosia, Koktebel, Adler or Gelendzhik. Rooms for the same period in the private sector cost 15 thousand rubles and more. Moreover, in August everything will only go up.

Of the other options, the expert considers:

Abkhazia, where more than a million Russians are expected this year. In private hotels and guest houses, the most budgetary vacation will cost them 15 thousand rubles or more, not counting air tickets and meals. True, officially Abkhazia requires a certificate of absence of covid or vaccination, but often no one asks about it.

Greece, which no longer restricts the entry of Russian tourists, but requires a vaccination certificate or PCR test. There the price will fluctuate from 90 to 120 thousand rubles, and even taking into account air tickets. But the high rate of the euro to the ruble can "eat" half of this money in spending on food, excursions and sun loungers on the beach.

Egypt, where the all-inclusive option will require 110 thousand rubles along with the flight. Plus a certificate of a negative PCR test for coronavirus.

Cyprus, where it is impossible to get there by direct flight from the regions of Russia. Rest there costs from 70 thousand rubles (without air tickets), but! - since Russia is on the “red list” of countries for covid, two tests are needed in Cyprus - one with you, the other to pass there right at the airport for 30-32 euros, and wait for its results in isolation.

The expert included Croatia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Morocco and Cuba in one group, since they traditionally attract Russian tourists, but so far they are not too accessible for them. With Bulgaria and Morocco, for example, there are no direct flights, and they have just begun to Montenegro. In Cuba, the situation with covid is difficult. Rest in these countries is still expensive, but if the road there is open for Russians, it may become cheaper...

So far, everything is difficult for our citizens, but it is still possible to find something to their liking.
