Last week, the editorial staff of TagilCity.ru, in the course of daily measurements of air pollution in Nizhny Tagil, revealed that the MAC (maximum admissible concentration) for various substances was exceeded for five days.

In particular, on Sunday, December 6, the maximum permissible concentration of hydrogen sulfide was exceeded 46 times.

On December 1, the journalists' gas analyzer showed that the maximum permissible concentration of nitrogen dioxide was doubled. On December 3, in the conditional sanitary protection zone of Uralvagonzavod, an excess of nitrogen dioxide and the presence of hydrocyanic acid were detected. On December 4, the editorial office found that the maximum permissible concentration of nitrogen dioxide was three times higher.

At the same time, the largest air pollution was detected on weekends. On December 5, journalists recorded an excess of MPC for nitrogen dioxide eight times, hydrogen sulfide - 32.5 times, formaldehyde - 17.6 times. And on December 6: nitrogen dioxide almost nine times, hydrogen sulfide - 46 times, formaldehyde - 1.6 times.

TagilCity.ru notes that the testimony of the UGMS often does not agree with those shown by the gas analyzer of the editorial office. Sometimes the UGMS does not record pollution at all, and journalists find that the MPC is exceeded for various substances.

Earlier there was information that Nizhny Tagil may be excluded from the federal project "Clean Air". Vladislav Pinayev, the head of the city, believes that this indicates that the authorities are doing everything right. And TagilCity.ru journalists have been recording numerous air pollution for several weeks.

Let us recall that in 2019 in Nizhny Tagil, an "increased" level of air pollution was registered. According to TagilCity.ru, more than 1.7 thousand wagons of harmful substances are discharged into the city annually. Ecologist and social activist from Nizhny Tagil Andrey Volegov sees the main cause of air pollution in old industries that were built in the 40-50s. last century. Now enterprises do not want to bear the cost of upgrading equipment.
