Russia's citizens were cautioned against buying fake special passes for cars to move freely around the city during the period of the self-isolation regime. Swindlers on the network offer to make such a pass remotely on average for 5-7 thousand rubles, and after receiving the money, they disappear.

“Fraudsters take advantage of panic, therefore, as soon as a new authorization document appears, they are trying to make money on it,” said Sergei Radko, lawyer for the public motorist movement, in an interview with Radio Sputnik . According to him, in a number of regions where it is forbidden to travel around the city on a personal car without a special permit, unscrupulous citizens sell fake documents.

The lawyer explained that all passes are issued only by city administrations, but not by private companies. “If you see offers for sale on the Internet one hundred percent you may be caught by fraudsters,” he said.

Novye Izvestia managed to find several ads for the sale of special passes. Taxi drivers in Moscow on Avito are invited to purchase them for 400 rubles, and Vkontakte has created a separate community in which they promise to make a special permit in any region in 24 hours.

The lawyer recalled that in Russia both for the sale and for the purchase of false documents criminal liability is provided. The maximum penalty under Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for the sale of counterfeit documents is up to 3 years in prison, for their acquisition - arrest for six months.
