He emphasized that on average in the country the price of real estate increased by 12%, and in North Ossetia - by 30%, in Oryol, Ryazan regions, Amur and Adygea - 17-20%.

The President pointed out that the preferential mortgage program, thanks to which Russians were able to lend for housing at 6.5%, as well as the growth in the total volume of loans issued (over a trillion rubles), played a significant role.

"We are constantly discussing this, and we talked about this at meetings, and pointed out the problems of price growth. But this is not just an increase in prices, but such a significant increase. It is clear, even when it jumped in the Far East, but in the European part - 30-20 (percent)", - said Vladimir Putin at a meeting with government members on the implementation of the presidential messages to the Federal Assembly of 2019 and 2020.

In addition to instructing the FAS to investigate the situation, the head of state pointed out the need to create a new proposal on the real estate market.

On the eve of Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said that in the country as a whole, new buildings rose in price by 12%, but in some regions prices for them even decreased. He clarified that in Moscow and the Moscow region, construction "stopped altogether", and in a number of regions "there were certain restrictions" during the coronavirus pandemic.

At the same time, the Russians began to pay off the mortgage for a longer time. The fall in the income of citizens has led to an increase in the repayment period of such a loan to 18 years.
