This year, only 8% of Russians have planned a vacation at sea, while every third person will not go anywhere during their summer vacation.

Research holding Romir has published the results of a study on the plans of Russians on vacation this year. After polling 1,500 adult respondents in all federal districts, sociologists found that every third Russian (35%) is not going to go anywhere.

Among those who do not plan summer travel, 51% are low-income citizens, and 47% are people aged 60 and over.

“The share of those planning to spend a vacation at home has decreased by 5% in comparison with last year - 40% of Russians adhered to the“ home plans ”plans in 2020”, - the message says.

About 30% of residents will spend their days off from work at the dacha or visiting relatives, 15% have no plans yet.

Every tenth respondent intends to spend a vacation while traveling. This answer was usually given by Russians with a high income (22%). During the pandemic in 2020, there were fewer people wishing to go on a tour - about 7%.

Only 8% of citizens have planned a vacation at sea. Most of those wishing to go to the beach in the summer live in the North Caucasian Federal District (22%). Only 2% of the country's citizens are going to rest abroad. Basically, these are people aged 25 to 44.

Disclosing plans on the cost of vacation, 32% of respondents said they intend to spend from 20 to 40 thousand rubles. per person, 29% are ready to pay from 40 to 60 thousand rubles, 12% will be able to afford a vacation at a price not exceeding 10-20 thousand rubles, 11% intend to relax for 60-80 thousand rubles, and 8% of citizens can afford to spend 80-100 and over 100 thousand rubles. Based on the responses received, the researchers concluded that the average vacation spend would be RUB 53,325 per person.

Comparing the data, the experts summed up that the majority of Russians are still wary of spending their holidays outside the home. Obviously, the main reasons for this phenomenon can be called a drop in income (wages in small and medium-sized businesses fell by 17%) and concerns about their own health in the face of coronavirus restrictions that have not yet been lifted at many popular resorts.

Earlier it was reported that against the background of the closure of foreign destinations, prices for vacations in Russia have increased significantly. In the southern regions, which this summer are preparing to receive 4 million more tourists than usual, even "sheds" have been booked, while prices for them have risen almost to the level of "palaces". The situation turned out to be so critical that the FAS intervened in the pricing issue. At the same time, due to the sharply "skyrocketed" prices for vouchers, about 30% of Russians refused to go out.
