The Moscow government will continue to take harsh measures to detain migrants, initiate criminal cases against them, deport migrants and ban them from entering in case of violations, said the mayor of the capital, Sergey Sobyanin.

"As for hooliganism, violation of migration legislation, there is only one recipe - to punish, expel from the country and prohibit entry. What, in fact, is happening. As soon as we felt the tension of this situation, we immediately began to take tough measures to arrest, initiate criminal cases, expulsion, prohibition of entry, and so on, - Sobyanin said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, adding that the city authorities intend to continue this tactic.

The mayor stressed that he has nothing against workers from other countries, but only if they observe public order. There are no fewer migrants in Moscow, Sobyanin noted, and the deficit arises due to the growing number of construction projects.

It's worth reminding that in the capital, cases of mass fights between migrants have become more frequent. The last incident took place on August 27 in a hostel on Admiral Kornilov Street. The police detained more than twenty people. They also intend to expel five detainees from the country.

In total, about 200 newcomers were deported from the capital after they staged massive fights in different parts of the city.
