Those wishing to be vaccinated against the coronavirus with the Russian vaccine will have to give up alcohol for almost two months, said the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova. According to her, it is best not to drink two weeks before the injection and for another 42 days after it.

“At least two weeks before the vaccination, it is definitely worth giving up alcoholic beverages completely”, - Popova said. The vaccinated person will develop immunity for another 21 days after the first vaccination and another three weeks after the second. “You need to be aware that during this period - from the first injection to the last 42 days, the formation of immunity takes place, during this period you need to take care of yourself”, - she said on the air of the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio station.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor explained that it is recommended to abstain from alcohol because at the moment it is taken, the body begins to work on detoxification - the body's attention switches from the formation of immunity from the coronavirus.

Mass vaccination of Russians against coronavirus began in Russia this week. Doctors and teachers are recommended to be vaccinated first. Then, as production increases, other categories of citizens will be able to receive the vaccine. Vaccinations are voluntary and free of charge.

Since the beginning of the spread of the coronavirus epidemic in Russia, 2.5 million people have already contracted this disease, almost half a million people in the country as a whole continue to receive treatment. 44.1 thousand patients died from complications. The rest managed to cope with the disease.

Russia was the first in the world to develop and register a vaccine against coronavirus. However, the third and final stage of trials of this vaccine is still ongoing. It was developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center. In addition to it, another vaccine has been registered in Russia, developed by the Vector Research Center of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor).
