Colonel General Alexander Romanov (pictured) was relieved of his post as Deputy Minister of the Interior - Head of the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The reasons are not reported.

The decree is published on the official portal of legal information.

- To dismiss Colonel-General of Justice Romanov Alexander Vladimirovich from the post of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation - head of the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, the document says.

Recall that on April 3, the Basmanny Court arrested two Romanov's deputies - Generals Alexander Krakovsky and Alexander Biryukov. Both are accused of abuse of authority. According to RIA Novosti, on April 1, Romanov was questioned as a witness.

According to the materials of the criminal case, Krakowski and Biryukov helped transfer the developer Albert Khudoyan, accused of major fraud, to house arrest. For this, both expected to receive a reward. Khudoyan himself eventually left the pre-trial detention center, and the arrest was lifted from three plots of land for 2.2 billion rubles, of which he is accused of embezzlement.

Note that the generals are not charged with an article on receiving a bribe. Investigators believe that they did not manage to get a reward.
