“But we must clearly understand that the virus has not gone anywhere. The virus stays with us. We still have people who are infected with the virus, who get sick. Maybe less than some time ago, but still there are some serious cases, - Popova said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.

She noted that there is still no cure for coronavirus, and therefore it is too early to refuse personal protective equipment.

- For the entire period that the virus remains with us, and we do not yet have a special specific means of protection, such as a vaccine, we must be very careful. In all constituent entities of the Russian Federation, regardless of the regime of removal of restrictions, the mask regime remains, ”Popova stated.

She added that citizens should independently monitor compliance with the rules established during the pandemic and take care of their health.

Let us recall that from yesterday, June 9, in Moscow, the leader among other regions in the number of detected cases of COVID-19, the self-isolation mode was lifted. Access control also ceased to operate. Restrictions are canceled for all citizens, including Muscovites over 65.

"It's time to cancel all measures. We frighten ourselves too much with this coronavirus. With this coronavirus, we will soon leave our children without a future in the state of the economy that we had before the epidemic, this is unforgivable carelessness", - said Gennady Onishchenko, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma for Education and Science, epidemiologist.

To date, 485,253 cases of coronavirus infection have been identified in Russia. 242 397 patients recovered. 6,141 people died.
