The head of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergey Furgal is located in the Moscow Temporary detention center-1. After a six-hour questioning, he pleaded not guilty to the murder case. In particular, the governor is suspected of ordering the murder of business rival Evgeni Zori in 2004.

“Furgal does not plead guilty”, - Alexey Melnikov, the executive secretary of the Public Monitoring Commission (PMC), told Interfax.

Now the head of the region is in temporary detention center No. 1 of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow (Petrovka, 38), in a double cell, without a neighbor.

According to the representative of the PMC, Furgal’s mood is calm. The governor said at a meeting with the observers that "he expected a lot of things, but not so harshly". He also admitted that if you say that he is outraged and shocked, "it means not to say anything".

- The governor looked quite cheerfully, although he admitted that he had not slept for almost a day. Recall that the head of the Khabarovsk Territory was charged with organizing murders and attempted murder. He is suspected of organizing two murders. Evidence against Furgal was given by criminals detained last year, as well as witnesses.

Last year, on suspicion of the murder, they detained an entrepreneur, a former deputy of the Khabarovsk Regional Duma and business partner of Sergey Furgal, Nikolai Mistryukov. In addition, Marat Kadyrov, Alexander Karepov and Andrey Paleya were detained. They are all suspected of the murder of entrepreneurs Yevgeny Zorya and Oleg Bulatov (the police officer with whom Furgal created a metal trading business), as well as the attempted murder of Alexander Smolsky.

Furgal became interested in the biography after he defeated the current governor, a member of United Russia, Vyacheslav Shport, in the elections in 2018.
