Rosprirodnadzor demanded through court a fine of about 148 billion rubles in connection with the violations by the Norilsk-Taimyr Energy Company, which is part of Norilsk Nickel. Earlier, the department has already spoken about its readiness to collect money through the court.

In these $ 2 billion, Rosprirodnadzor estimated the damage to the environment from the consequences of a major oil spill in May this year near Norilsk. Norilsk Nickel pointed out inaccuracies in the calculations of damage from the accident at CHPP-3, trying to reduce the amount by 20-70%.

The lawsuit was filed by the Yenisei Interregional Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources. It will be considered by the Arbitration Court of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

- The claims amount to 147,784,627,500 rubles, - reported in Rosprirodnadzor, - TASS leads the report of Rosprirodnadzor.

Norilsk Nickel does not agree with the amount of the claim. According to company representatives, the agency applied the highest penalty coefficient. The head of Rosprirodnadzor, Svetlana Radionova, noted that no one disputes the use of one of the lowest coefficients for the northern rivers, despite the fact that the northern rivers recover longer than others.

Earlier, Norilsk Nickel made an official position in relation to the requirements of Rosprirodnadzor for compensation for damage to the ecosystem after the oil spill near Norilsk. According to company representatives, some indicators taken by the department to form the total amount of damage are not justified and need to be adjusted. Norilsk Nickel also believes that the mass of fuel that got into the water bodies was determined incorrectly, since their amount in the water-fuel mixture, contaminated soil and sorbent collected in the area of CHPP-3 was calculated before the end of the collection of oil products.
