According to Kommersant, referring to the minutes of the meeting of the government commission on road safety, punishment should take into account the degree of intoxication of the warrior.

Currently, those who are caught for drunk driving, according to the Code of Administrative Offenses, must pay a fine or lose their rights, and criminal liability occurs with a repeated violation.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs, Rosgvardia, Rostekhnador, Rosaviatsia and the State Inspection of Small Vessels of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will have to work out a measure of influence on citizens. These innovations mean a mechanism by which a drunk driver will be deprived of the right to drive all types of transport, including snowmobiles, special equipment, jet skis, boats, yachts, planes and trains.

In addition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Health will develop a single mechanism for mandatory registration of all drivers who have already been deprived of their license for drunk driving. The government is considering the possibility of life-long deprivation of the rights of drunk drivers convicted of the offense again.

We will remind that today it became known about the intention of the Rosgvardia to provide the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB with more powers to check citizens when obtaining or obtaining a weapon permit.

It's worth reminding that in the summer of 2021, the deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted a law to toughen the responsibility for driving while drunk, according to which you can get up to three years in prison for repeated driving while intoxicated.
